While I choose to have my hair shoulder length currently, my hair's very healthy & I've been thinking of growing it long again at shock horror the age of 50! Some salons reopened when shelter-in-place orders were relaxed, but why take the risk? THIS is why i know cut my hair myself, or have my mother or husband cut my hair lol. I still have problems, but the type of cut and the length (I have short hair) but if it is just that 'bit' too long, it is worth getting it cut for the peace of mind. My mom has thick hair and they have to do that or it looks weird. When I'm in a really bad place or triggered, sometimes I feel the overwhelming urge to cut my hair, the urge to do this is much stronger when my hair is growing longer, I end up cutting it or buzzing it off with clippers (not bald, just short - I use an #8 and #12 clipper guard that gives a good pixie cut).
